Dewey Clayton Guy, age 83, 106 Stevens Lane, Hampton, TN went home to he with the Lord Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Born in 1923 in Avery County, NC, he was a son of the late Andrew Jackson and Bessie Jane Vines Guy. Mr. Guy was a member of Eternal Life Baptist Church and was a deacon. He had worked for McCloud Lumber for thirty-two years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Guy was preceded in death by one son, Delmas Everett Guy, three brothers, Dayton, Charles, and Albert Guy, one half-brother, Troy Guy, and two sisters, Lona Watson and Pearl Cordell.
Survivors are his wife, Louie D. Guy, one daughter, four step-daughters, one step-son, one grandson, one granddaughter, eight step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister, two half-sisters, and special nephew, Coy.
The funeral service for Dewey Guy will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15 in the Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Rev. Donald Yates officiating. Matthew Guy will give the eulogy. Music will be under the direction of the Pooles. Interment will follow in the Flat Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Elk Park, NC.
