Mrs. Elma Tucker Mixon of Fitzgerald died September 23, 1998 at Dorminy Medical Center. She was 89. Mrs. Mixon was born October 22, 1908, in Irwin County, the daughter of W. M. and Miriam Tucker. She was a homemaker and had lived in Ben Hill County for the past 50 years. She was a member of Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church of Irwin County. Mrs. Mixon was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Mixon and one son Bobby Mixon. Survivors include one daughter, Faye Smith of Fitzgerald; three sons, Herman,Jerry and Wayne "Yogie" Mixon, nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; two brothers: C. L. and Donald Tucker and two sisters: Mildred Roberts and Bertie Parker. Services were held at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel of Fitzgerald and Interment was held at Brushy Creek Cemetery of Irwin County. Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
