Marjorie Jeanne Potts, age 92, of Hudson was born to life September 7, 1916 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Finley and Marjorie (Thorpe) Crockett. She attended Longfellow Elementary School in Sioux City prior to graduating from East High School. On March 5, 1938 Jeanne was united in marriage to Doyle Edward Potts at her parent's home in Sioux City. This union was blessed with three sons although this union later dissolved. Over the years, she worked as a secretary for Younker - Davidson Department Store in Sioux City for their invoice operations, and then later in sales. Jeanne was a lady of class, dignity and high moral ground who led by example of how to live a Christian life. She enjoyed many church and social activities with friends; she was always interested in a good game of bridge and was a devout Minnesota Twins fan. She loved flower gardening and took great pleasure from the beauty and fragrance of a spring flower. On February 13th, 2009, she was born to eternal life at the Christian Community Home in Hudson. Jeanne is survived by her sons James (wife Joan) Potts of Hudson, WI and Dennis (wife Donna) Potts of South Pasadena, CA, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother Jim Crockett, parents Finley and Marjorie Crockett and son Thomas Potts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00AM Saturday April 18th at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church 14107 So. Hudson Road in Afton with Pastor Steve Kramer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials are preferred. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Funeral services entrusted to the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
