Funeral services will be held Tuesday 2:00 PM, April 7, 2009 at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Sammy Taylor, Rev. Tommy Mathis and Rev. Hillery Wood officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pope was born February 4, 1919 in Wilkes County to Ira and Sarah Harrold Wood. Before retiring, she worked 40 years for Glenn L. Martin Aircraft. Mrs. Pope was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Taft E. Pope.
She is survived by: two daughters, Linda Davis of Marlinton, WV, Sarah Gail Duszczak of Jacksonville, FL; one sister-in-law, Glenna Wood of Hays; several nieces and nephews
