Son of John Picklehimer and Elizabeth Miller.

Hymer, Jesse P., P.O. Ashby's Mills, Farmer and Stockraiser, Section 3; is the proprietor of the "Grassland Farm," and a dealer in fine stock; his reputation as a breeder of blooded animals is known throughout several States; was born in Fayette County, Ky., July 27, 1804; son of John Hymer, born in Virginia, and Elizabeth Miller, born in Maryland. He was married March 16, 1831, to Eliza, daughter of Samuel C. and Sarah Gill, natives of Kentucky; Mrs. Hymer was born in Bath County, Ky., June 12, 1812; has had a family of twelve children; one girl, Emily died in infancy, and a son, John Thomas, was killed in his twenty-second year; those living are Sarah, Elizabeth, Amanda, Georgia Ann, Harriet, Samuel H., James W., Cassandra, Laura and Alma. Mr. Hymer came to this county, first, in 1828, and since his marriage, in 1831, has resided permanently here; he now owns 622 acres of first-class improved land, and is an enterprising, progressive farmer.
