George Washington Hayes, 92, a native of Excel & a resident of Warner Robins, GA, died 5 Nov 1992, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Hayes had lived in Warner Robins for the past nine years moving from Perdido. He was a self-empolyed carpenter & farmer & was the son of the late James Henry & Margaret Champion Hayes. Hayes was a member of the Shirley Hills Bapt. Church in Warner Robins. Survivors include his wife, Lola Hayes of Warner Robins; 3sons: William M. Hayes-Warner Robins, Arthur G. Hayes-Burden, KS & Fletcher L. Hayes - Irvington; 2daus: Ollie M. Chance-Bay Minette & Beatrice Unrue-Kitts Hill, OH; 2sis: Lilly Jarman - Robertsdale & Melissa Wallace-Silverhill; bro: Howard Hayes-Evergreen. 29 gch, 55 great - gch & 16 great-great-gch. Services were 6 Nov from the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins. Services were 9 Nov from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette. Interment followed in the Old Cooper Cem. in Robertsdale.
