Obit: On Saturday last Wm. Kile received a letter from his brother-in-law, Shadrach Jones, of Phoenix, Ariz., stating that Mattie Jones, his wife, had died of asthma, on the 3rd inst. Mrs. Jones, nee Kile, a sister of William Kile, was born and reared in Eminence township on the old Kile farm, and was well known in this vicinity. She was married at an early age to Shadrach Jones, of Carter county, and resided in this and Carter county until 1889, when they removed to Phoenix, Ariz., which place they made their home to the date of her demise. Mattie was a cheerful, good-hearted girl and a kind and affectionate wife and mother, and her many friends in this county will feel sad to learn of her untimely death. Besides two brothers and a sister in Shannon county and two sisters in Springfield, she leaves a husband and two children in Phoenix, Ariz., to mourn her sad loss. As a friend and an old acquaintance of the family, we extend a heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved in their hour of affliction.
