Isaac Zimmerman was the son of Johannes Zimmerman and Anna Maria Schneider.

He married Mary Stuckey on 6 Feb 1868 in Clinton Co., IN.

Death of Isaac Zimmerman



A telegram announcing the death of Uncle Isaac Zimmerman, who is at Phoenix, Arizona, was received in Sterling, Thursday morning. He went out there a short time since. The remains will probably be brought back for interment. He was widely known and much respected in northern Reno county where he lived many years.

Isaac Zimmerman



Isaac Zimmerman was born in Germany in 1838 and died in Phoenix, Arizona, December 30, 1903, aged 65 years, 11 months and 13 days. When 14 years of age he came over from the old country and settled on a farm in Indiana, and from there he went to Illinois and was married to Mary Sumner in 1861. To this union were born two children. In 1868 he was married to Miss Mary Stucky in Indiana. In 1884 they moved on a farm eight miles south and two miles west of Sterling. To this union was born eleven children namely, Chris, Dave, Sol, Nona, Sam, Jake, Joe, Amos, Willie and Levi. All are living on farms south of Sterling except Chris, Sam and Willie who died in infancy. Mrs. Zimmerman died on April 19, 1901. Mr. Zimmerman was a member of the Mennonite Church and a faithful worker for the Lord. On the account of his health being so poor he sought a different climate, and a few months ago he went to Arizona for his health from which he grew worse until his death. His funeral was held at the Mennonite Church, conducted by Jacob Schmucker, Wednesday, January 6th, at 2 p.m. Many relatives and friends are left to mourn the loss of a loving father and brother.
