Clara was born July 11, 1915 in Butlerville, Indiana to her father Lewis Brougher and mother Jenny Woolman. She married Gordon Haines Nov. 29, 1939 in Bedford.
Clara was a homemaker all her life. She was a 1934 Graduate of Butlerville High School and was a member of the Hayden Homemaker Club for 69 years, joining the club in 1940. Clara was also a former member of the Hayden Methodist Church and the Smiling Senior Citizens. Her hobbies included Geneology Research, needlework, sewing, and crocheting.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Sorrels officiating. Friends may cal from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in North Vernon.

Survivors include a son, Lewis (Vonna) Haines of North Vernon,; two sisters, Betty (Charles) Ellercamp and Jeanetta Bush, both of North Vernon; two grandchildren, Curtis (Rachel) Haines and Mark Haines, both of North Vernon; one great grandchild, Adam Haines of North Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Lee Haines; and one brother, Lloyd Brougher.
