John was married 1st to Mary Dodd who is also buried at Blooming Grove as "Mary Graves" Aug 10, 1826 – Oct 28, 1876. There also is not much info about her ancestry as the family records gave no additional information. Mary is the mother of: (1) Nancy E. (Graves) Yerby Jul 15, 1850 – Aug 10, 1918, (2) Welthey (Graves) Black Apr 19, 1852 – Jul 29, 1929 (my gtgrandmother), (3) Amanda (Graves) Markham Oct 4, 1853 – Jun 8, 1877, and ((4) John William Graves Oct 1857 – Unk.
All but John William Graves are buried at Blooming Grove. The whereabouts of John William Graves remain uncertain as the story goes that he abandoned his family and "went West." Divorce papers filed for "abandonment" indicated that he was in Grant Co., AR. I have found John William and Delila (Belcher) Graves on the 1900 – 1930 Grant Co., AR censuses and believe he is the same person.
