Ashby David Mongold, 93, of Moorefield died in Nella's Nursing Home, Elkins.
Born in Hardy County, February 15, 1886, he was a son of the late David and Maggie (Fitzwater) Mongold.
Preceded in death by two wives, Mrs. Edith(Coffman) Mongold, and Mrs. Olive (Wolfe) Mongold, he is survived by three sons, George Mongold and Homer Mongold, both of Moorefield; Robert Mongold, Charles Town; five daughters, Mrs. Lizz Cobb and and Mrs. Edith Burgers, both of Maysville; Mrs. Edna Kilber, Mrs. Nellie Miller and Mrs. Pauline Cook, all of Moorefield; a brother, John Mongold, Moorefield; a sister, Mrs. Verda Whitaker, Moorefield; 45 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted at the Fraley Funeral Home Monday. The Rev. Laurean Smith officiated, and interment was in the Newhouse Cemetery, Rig.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Fraley Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Wilbur Cook, Bill Cook, Ronald Perron, Michael Miller, David Miller and Tom Hose.
