AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Margie Louise "Lou" Melton, age 77 a resident of Auburndale passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Orlando Regional Healthcare @ Lucerne Hospital due to heart failure.
Mrs. Melton was born April 20, 1931 in Valdosta, Georgia to James H. and Eula Mae (Royal) Allred. She was a resident of Auburndale for over 60 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Auburndale. She enjoyed quilting and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Orville Richard "Dick" Melton, Sr., and son Orville Richard "Richie" Melton, Jr. Lou is survived by her loving family: 1 daughter: Rhonda (Robert Gurnic) Johnson of Longwood, FL., 2 Brothers: Raymond (Annette) Allred of Auburndale, FL., Jimmy (Nita) Allred of Brandon, FL., 1 sister: Margurite Pearson of Auburndale, FL., 1 grandchild: Levi Johnson of Longwood, FL., 1 great grandchild: Raven Johnson of Longwood, FL.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Kersey Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Auburndale Cemetery. A reception will be held at Lou's home after graveside services.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 9, 2009 before services from 3:00 till 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
