Served in war of 1812 from Indiana. Was illiterate. Headed Militia company in 1811. They marched to the Blue River and destroyed some Indian towns. Received a gold headed cane at the Pioneer Association in 1885. At his death, age 96, he was the last survivor of the War of 1812 in southeastern Indiana. See War of 1812 Pension record.
