Velna Pauline Hall, 97, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009. She was born July 22, 1911 in Fay, Oklahoma and spent the first years of her life on a farm near Oakwood, Oklahoma. After marrying Wilbur Hall, the couple moved to an acreage north of Oklahoma City and started a family. Velna later made her home in Oklahoma City and dedicated her life to raising her son and helping raise her grandchildren. She also worked as an accountant. In recent years, she lived at Tealridge Retirement Home and most recently at Grace Living Center.
Velna was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Hall her father, Edward Smith her mother, Etta (Minert) Smith a sister, Doris Holbrook a brother, Leon Smith and a sister, Bernita Dewey.
She is survived by her son, Dean Hall and his wife Janet a grandson, Mikel Hall a granddaughter, Cindy Hall a great-grandson, Alex Riggs and a great-granddaughter, Jena Riggs. Graveside services will be 2:00 Wed., April 8, 2009 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
