GASTONIA - George Thomas Glover, 89, formerly of Belmont, died April 5, 2009 at home.

He was a native of Belmont, son of the late John F. and Katie Flowers Glover.

Mr. Glover was a member of Lowell Church of God and retired from Ti-Caro. He was an avid hunter and a longtime member of the PeeDee Beagle Club.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanie Glover; brothers, Richard Glover and wife Mary Jean of Gastonia, Charles Glover and wife Loretta of Belmont, Bobby Glover and wife Frances of Belmont; sister, Mildred Whitener of Belmont; special nephew, Butch Brown and wife Karen of Gastonia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by former wife, Omie J. Glover; brothers, Fred, Jack and William Glover; sisters, Eleanor L. Fredrick and Nellie Mae "Nell" Hansil.

Visitation will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at McLean Funeral Directors of Belmont.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lowell Church of God with the Revs. Joe Heffner and Tim Parker officiating.

Pallbearers will be Joseph A. Campbell III, Jimmy Holler, Dallas Murray Holler, Charles Brown, Casey Philbeck, Michael Philbeck, Eugene Fredrick and Colin Brandon

Interment will be at Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, Gastonia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Lowell Church of God, P.O. Box 802, Lowell, NC 28098.
