Mr. Newman was born on November 25, 1925 in Wilcox County. He was son of the late Lonnie Newman and Alma Heath Newman. He was a member of the Cannonville Baptist Church and was Owner/Operator of Abbeville Sales and Service for 41 years. He served his country with honor in the United States Merchant Marines and the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by a son Kenneth "Pete" Newman in 2004.
Survivors include: wife-LaQuita W. Newman of Abbeville, sons-Keith Newman of Abbeville and Kelvin "Bo" Newman of Roswell, brother-Randall Newman of Collins, sisters-Vivian Hancock of Dublin, Margene Hollingsworth of Abbeville, and Myrtle Conley of Rhine, and 5-grandchildren and 2-great-grandchildren.
