Edna Grace Kenny Easter, age 95, of Amelia, passed away on December 29, 2005. Preceded in death by her husband, James Monroe Easter, she is survived by her sons, Thomas and Floyd of Amelia; daughters, Eva Sue Rector of Blackstone, Josephine Smith of Gloucester, Peggy Perry of Gaithersburg, Md., and Sarah Johnson of Richmond; sister, Lora Redd of Galax, Va.; 24 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Visiting at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St., Amelia, on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 1, 2006 at 3 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, with interment following in Salem United Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Farmville Hospital or Salem United Methodist Church.
