Obituary -- Mrs. Nora Bailie
Mrs. Nora Bailie, a native of Taylor County, died at her home in Bedford, Dec. 10 at the age of 86 years, 10 months, two days.
Funeral services were held at the Shum-Novinger Funeral Service Home on Madison Street, Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 13. Rev. Colvin Caughey officiated. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Nora Edna, daughter, of Andrew J. and Nancy Ellen Thompson, was born Feb. 8, 1875, near Bedford, Iowa. She was the fourth in a family of 10 children.
In the spring of 1924 she was married to Frank Bailie. They made their home in Bedford until Mr. Bailie passed away in 1933. She cared for her husband's uncle and aunt for several years. Since 1934 she has lived with her sister in Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; five brothers, Charles, John, Ernie, Frank and Curt Thompson; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Armstrong and Mrs. Jessie Clark.
She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Hannah Mohler of Bedford; a brother, James W. Thompson, of Southey, Sask., Canada, who is ill and in the hospital; nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Bedford [for] many years.
