The accidental death of Margie Ann Hain, five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gailen Hain of Sioux City on Sunday, Oct. 21 (Oct. 19) came as a shock to the entire community. Margie Ann, while visiting at the home of friends with her parents, was fatally injured when she fell while playing on a swing. Only a few minutes after going to the swing she was found lying unconscious beside it.
Margie Ann, daughter of Gailen Hain and Ruth O'Meara, was born in Sioux City on Oct. 1, 1942. She was baptized in the Catholic faith and was attending Immaculate Conception Kindergarten at the time of her death. During the time her father was serving his country, Margie Ann and her mother made their home at the parental Clarence O'Meara home in Denison, after which they again moved to Sioux City. She had attained the age of five years and 18 days.
Besides her parents she leaves her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hain and Clarence O'Meara, her Grandmother O'Meara having preceded her in death in 1943, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Services were held from the St. Rose of Lima church with Father Casey officiating on Wednesday morning, Oct. 22 at 10 o'clock. Margie Ann was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery at Denison.
