OBITUARY Iron River Reporter July 7 1960 "C.C. Crandall Funeral Rites Held Tuesday"
Funeral services for Chester C. Crandall, 43, former Iron River resident who died of a heart attack Thursday night in a Tulsa, Okla. hospital, were held Tuesday afternoon at Wesley Union Methodist church.
The Rev. John Grenfell officiated. Burial was in Resthaven cemetery. The Johns-Fell Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Crandall visited in the Iron River district two weeks ago with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis G. Crandall, 125 West Genesee street.
He was born here Nov. 11, 1916 and attended Iron River public schools. In 1938 he moved to the west coast where he was employed with Douglas Aircraft. Later he attended the Curtis-Weight Aircraft school at Glendale, Calif. and became a liaison representative for the Douglas company. For the past four years his job had him stationed at Tulsa.
Mr. Crandall is survived by his wife, Mary; two children, Janice, 17, and Kathy, 10; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Crandall of Iron River; two brothers, Emery of Iron River and Ray of Escanaba; and a sister Mrs. Wallace Erickson of Iron River.
Mrs. Elmer Anderson was organist for the funeral and Lionel Sleeman sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Abide With Me."
Pallbearers for the funeral were Clair Anderson, George Heyd, Willard Dooley, Roland Gulgren, Heinz Taubert and George Moyle.
Out of town friends and relatives attending the funeral were Mrs. Eve Lawrence of Schoolcraft, Mr. and Mrs. James Piper of Tarzana, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. James Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Crandall of Escanaba, Robert Ondrus of Chicago, Pfc. Robert Seppala of Fort Sill, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Victor Seppala, Mr. and Mrs. George Janov, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Masuga, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bregger, Mr. and Mrs. John Ondrus and Mike Barna, all of Crystal Falls.
