Levi Jamison Agnew

Died: 26 Mar 1865, Bedford, Bedford Co., Pa
Son of: Levi Agnew & Sarah Kriechbaum
Levi Jamison Agnew was mustered on October 9, 1861 at Harrisburg, Pa. In May and June of 1862 he was on detached service at Hilton Head, SC. In March and April of 1863, he was on board the U.S. gunboat Pawnee and appointed a Corporal, Company E, on Feb. 14, 1864. He was wounded May 7, 1864 and was hospitalized for that wound at Port Walthall Junction, Va. He was admitted to a hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. on Sept. 6, 1864 for a gun shot wound and fracture of the left arm and was discharged from the service on Nov. 2, 1864 because of expiration of term of enlistment. When he died on March 26, 1865, he was 24 years old.
