Mrs. King was born a daughter of the late John Alfred Nixon and Minnie Shepard Nixon. Her husband, Thomas Henry King, and son, John Nixon King, also preceded her in death. Catherine graduated from East Carolina University and was a teacher in the Pender County School System for 35 years. She is survived by her nephew, Alfred Sidbury and wife Judy. Mrs. King of died at age 100 at her home.
