Patty Sue McGowan, 71, of Bono, passed away on Friday April 3, 2009, at her home.

She was born in Bono on October 30, 1937 to Luther W. Barnes and Grace (Chapel) Barnes.

Mrs. McGowan was a homemaker and retired from Westside High School. She was also a member of Herman Baptist Church. She loved sewing, cooking, and dancing at the Senior Citizens Center.

She leaves behind her sons, Kenny Joe McGowan and his wife Sandy of Batesville, and Tristan McGowan and his wife Andrea; a daughter, Samantha White and her husband Jeremy of Jonesboro; a brother, Ralph Barnes of Mountain Home; a sister, Katheleen Cox of Bono; grandchildren, Chancey Smith and her husband Scott, and Justin McGowan; and great grandchildren, Lacey White, Gabriel White, Tristah McGowan, Joshua McGowan and Lauren McGowan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cynthia McGowan Finley and two sisters, Margaret Barnes and Wanda Barnes.

Funeral services were held at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel. Burial was at the Herman Cemetery.
