Van Druff suffered a broken back when a hay lifting machine he was operating on his farm failed to function properly and pinned him to a tractor. The farm is operated by Claude Pont and is located three miles east of here on highway No. 6.
The accident paralyzed Van Druff from the waist down. He underwent an operation a few days after the accident.
He is survived by his widow, Deulah Reichart Vandruff; his mother, Mrs. C. H. Van Druff of Oakland; one brother, Leonard Van Druff of Council Bluffs and two sisters, Mrs. L. E. Dool of Hancock and Mrs. M. J. McAneny of Los Angeles.
