Edna M. (Allen) Rider, 95, of Granite City, died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
She was born Feb. 2, 1913, in Piedmont, Mo. Mrs. Rider was a more than 68-year member of the First Assembly of God Church in Granite City, where she served as director of the nursery for over 40 years; and was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Lynn Rider of Granite City; brother, Raymond P. Allen of Edwardsville; special niece, Ramona Burnett of Granite City; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Jerome Rider, who died in 1984; one son, Charles Rider; one daughter, Shirley Webb; her parents, Obid D. and Mamie (Ballard) Allen; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 5, at the First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Tim Newman officiating. Burial was in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
Irwin Chapel in Granite City handled the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church and will be accepted at the funeral home, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill. 62040.
