Emily was the 3rd of 5 known chidlren of James Kitchener (1846-1905) & Emily Steer (1853-1924).
She married Richard Charles Leach in the Wesleyan Church, Ormondville in 1903

Wedding at Ormondville
A large number of relations and friends assembled in the Wesleyan Church, Ormondville, on Wednesday afternoon to witness the marriage of Mr C. Leach, eldest son of Mr C. R. Leach, of Ormondville and Miss E. Kitchener, daughter of Mr Kitchener, of Dannevirke. The Rev. J. Oliver officiated. The church had been prettily decorated for the occasion. The bride, who wore a becoming travelling dress of brown cashmere, was given away by her eldest brother, Mr F. Kitchener(Frederick William), her bridesmaids being her sister, Miss S. Kitchener(Sarah) and Miss Lucy Leach, sister of the bridegroom. Mr Ernest Leach(Ernest William) attended his brother as best man. At the conclusion of the service an adjournment was made to the residence of the bridegroom's parents, where a sumptuous afternoon tea was awaiting the bridal party and their friends. Later in the afternoon Mr and Mrs C. Leach left for their honeymoon. They were the recipients of numerous presents.
