Born May 16, 1916, in Seatonville to Michael and Eugenia "Jenny" (Catarello) Giovannini, she married Charles Trumpinski Aug. 17, 1940, in Seatonville. He died in 1956.
She worked at Westclox in Peru for 25 years and also waitressed at The Big House in Spring Valley and Germansen's in Hollowayville and Ladd.
She was a member of St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Seatonville, the Altar and Rosary Society of the church and the Raviola Ladies of the church. She was an avid gardener, mushroom hunter, canner and according to her grandchildren, she was the best bread and pie maker in the world.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Trumpinski of Bloomingdale and Thomas (Sally) Trumpinski of Sublette; two daughters, Linda (Dennis) Reed of Rockford and Mary Raye (Bill) Neill of Arlington; one brother, John (Betty) Giovannini of Peru; two sisters, Nellie Ballerini of West Lafayette, Ind., and Mary Grabowski of Princeton; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, James, in 1969.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Seatonville, with the Rev. Michael Monclova officiating.
Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, where a rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to St. Gertrude Catholic Church.
