Eileen Blanche Coggins, 86, passed from this life into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, Washington. She was born October 30, 1922 to George and Blanche (Bryson) Bell. In 1932, upon the death of her mother, she was raised by her loving grandparents, Avery and Maggie Bryson. Eileen was a lifetime resident of Skagit County; primarily residing in Lyman except for the past 15 years in Mount Vernon. She married Glenn Coggins on October 4, 1941 in Port Townsend, WA. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage, during which time they raised their family, were very active in the community and endeared themselves to everyone they met. Glenn preceded her in death in 1992.

Eileen worked at Northern State Hospital for several years. She later worked as a secretary at Lyman Elementary School and Sedro-Woolley High School. Her life was devoted to her family and to developing a growing relationship with Jesus. She loved serving as pianist, organist, Bible teacher, and in other leadership roles in the churches she attended. She was a dear friend to countless people and was always willing to listen, pray, encourage and help in any way she could. She loved music, enjoyed Christian media, and loved flowers, especially her roses. She was an avid Mariner's fan, computer whiz, and collector.

Eileen is survived by Glenice (Dave) Pearson of Lake Stevens, WA and Surprise, AZ; Wayne (Marveen) Coggins of Nikiski, AK; Judy (Skip) Owings of Missoula, MT; Mark (Teresa) Coggins of Camano Island, WA. Grandchildren: Brian (Roxanne) Pearson, Brenda (Loran) Lichty, Tracie (Darren) Anderson, Michelle (Todd) Scherette, David (Liz) Coggins, Chet (Brianne) Owings, Glenn (Liz) Owings; Michael, Matthew, Daniel, Brittany, Hailey and Chloe Coggins; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
