BUFORD RITES SET FOR FRIDAY

Services for John Buford, 76, who died Wednesday night, August 27, 1969, will be held at 2:30pm Friday in the Hersman Chapel with Pastor Jim Palmer officiating.

Buford was born November 11, 1892 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma he then moved with his family to Cherokee County, Oklahoma (Indian Territory) and moved to Wagoner when he was still a child.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Mae (Mann) Buford of the home; step-daughter, Mrs. Frank(Evelyn) Freeman of Muskogee, Oklahoma; two brothers, William Blake Buford of Wagoner, and Whit M. Buford of Muskogee, Oklahoma; four sisters, Mrs. Amanda Rice of Wagoner, Mrs. Blythe Edna McDaniel of Hulbert, Oklahoma, Mrs. Ida Rotrammel of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and Mrs. Alafair Smith of Prague, Oklahoma; 5 step-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Hersman Funeral Home in Wagoner.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Dye, Frank Moss, L.R. Thomas, Tony Rizzo, John Rice and Kay Piersall.
