Vida Ellen Decker, 91, an Independence, MO resident since 1922, passed away April 1, 2009 in Houston, TX at the home of her granddaughter, Kelly Doyle.
Youngest child, she is the daughter of Marion 'Moroni' Sandage and Dora Belle (Kendall) Sandage. Vida's family gathered in Independence from Petersburg, IN. She married Oliver Decker Aug. 12, 1933 at Independence, MO.
With her husband, they were longtime members of R.L.D.S. Second Church.
Vida was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver; daughter, Shirley Downing; four brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by daughter, Doris Williamson of Grain Valley, MO; granddaughters, Kelly Doyle and husband Walter, their daughter Aimee and son Alan; Brenda Jones and husband David; grandsons Bruce Williamson and Brian Williamson; great-great-grandson Hunter; as well as nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Monday, April 6 at Mound Grove Cemetery.
