Reginald Sylvester "Reggie" Abbott Sr., 94, of Brunswick, died Monday December 21, 2009 at Savannah Rehab and Nursing Center.
A native of Brunswick, Georgia and a son to the late Jessie E. and Catherine Fonda Abbott ;; also preceded in death by his wife Charlotte Butler Abbott, a grandson, Christopher J. Holland, three brothers and four sisters.
He was retired from the Jekyll Island Authority, where he was fondly known as "The Dollar Man." He was a lifelong resident of Glynn County and member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He was also a charter member of Elks Lodge BPOE #691.
Survivors include a son, Reginald Sylvester Abbott Jr. (wife Bunny) of Fayetteville, GA
a daughter, Mary Jo Holland of Brunswick

Private graveside rites will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 29, 2009, in Palmetto Cemetery with Father Cletus Pifher officiating.
