Ruthie began her earthly journey on October 10, 1927 in Webster, Minnesota and it was completed on July 25, 2017 at Ebenezer Ridges Care Center in Burnsville, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Prince of Peace, Burnsville. Interment will be at Hoople City Cemetery, Hoople, ND on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11 a.m.
Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
Arrangements are being completed by the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.
Ruth Llorien (also known as “Grandma Ruthie and GG “!) was the daughter of Andrew and Hattie (Fredrickson) Barsness. She attended country school in Webster and later graduated from Minnehaha Academy, Minneapolis. Ruthie married Vernon H. Midboe on December 26, 1948 and he preceded her in death on March 3, 1975. She was a hard worker and caregiver, nurse’s aid, waitress in restaurants, custodian at First Lutheran Church in Hoople, ND and St. Olaf College, Northfield. Ruthie loved to clean and bake, especially buns and banana bread. Her door was always open and the coffee brewing! Christmas was her favorite time of year and she was known to send greeting cards to those who are “in need of a cheering up.” Sending cards became her ministry of love.
She is survived by three children, Kathryn (and Handt) Hanson of Prior Lake, Steven (and Becky) Midboe of Lynden, WA and Connie (and Rick) Stenson of Sherburn; eight grandchildren, Heather (and Paul), Aaron, Paul (and Adri), Christopher (and Ali) McKenzie (and James), Kelly, Stacey (and Jacob) and Hattie; seven great-grandchildren, Jonah, Hallie, Preston, Tatum, Lola, Celeste and Delaney; one sister, Evelyn (and Frank) Gates of Northfield; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; seven siblings, Jens, Nels, Fred, Harold, Luther, Clarence Barsness and Mable Larson.
