Judy was a 1970 graduate of Lancaster High School, was a member of The First English Lutheran Church, and Woods a 22 year member of the Caring and Sharing Ohio Child Conservation League. She was a former employee of Anchor Hocking Corporation and Diamond Power. Judy was on disability leave from Northeast Ohio Gas Corporation, where she served as the executive secretary to the president and was the first employee hired by the company.
Judy is survived by her husband of 29 years, Roger L. Woods; son, Brandon Woods; twin daughters, Audra and Alicia Woods, all of the home; mother, Mary B. Clum Scott of Lancaster; father and stepmother, Earl Thomas and Louise Scott of Logan; mother-in-law, Esther M. Woods of Lancaster; three brothers, Tim Scott of Lancaster, Nelson Scott of Glouster, and Gail (Tonya) Flowers of Westerville; sisters, Sue Rice-Blume (Glenn Blume) of Millersport; brother-in-law, Ron (Jan) Woods of Fort McCoy, Florida; two stepbrothers, Michael (Marilyn) Stevens of Logan and David (Cindy) Stevens of Buchtel; stepsister, Linda (John) Wood of Woodlake, California; special caregivers: Marlene Simmons and Jennifer Huston of Lancaster, Herb Wallace and David and Judy Scott, all of Logan; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas D. Scott; grandparents, Gurney and Audrey Clum and Flemon and Nelle Scott; and sister-in-law, Judy E. Woods.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster. Services will be at the funeral home chapel on Monday at 3 p.m. with Pastor Lawrence "Bud" Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster.
Pallbearers will be nephews John and Mark Woods, Milo and John Scott, Chad and Travis Rice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Judith Woods Memorial Fund at the Bremen Bank in Lancaster, a college fund that has been established for Judy's daughters, as well as Central Ohio Brain Tumor Association at the James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State University or the charity of your choice.
