Lynn Anne Aszman of Otis died Friday, March 27, 2009. She was 55. She was born Dec. 6, 1953, in Chicago, Ill., to Anthony John "Jack" and Barbara Anne Aszman. She was raised in Prospect Heights, Ill., and moved to Oregon after graduating from the University of Chicago in June 1976.
Lynn received her degree in Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University in June 1989. She worked in various veterinary clinics in Portland and was half owner in the 3rd Street Veterinary Clinic in McMinnville before opening her practice at Oceanlake Veterinary Clinic in Lincoln City in March 1999.
She was treasured by her family and her clients whose pets she cared for over the last 10 years. She loved walking her dogs on the local beaches, music, snorkeling, kayaking, Boogieboarding and swimming with the dolphins on vacations with her partner in life, Tony Lynn Custer. Lynn was loved for her outspoken opinions and her tender, loyal heart.
She is survived by her mother, Barbara Anne Aszman of Prospect Heights, Ill.; her sisters Barbara Anne Aszman Stone of Grinnell, Iowa, and Sue Anne Aszman of Mckinleyville, Calif.; her best friend and loyal partner in life, Tony Lynn Custer, of Otis; her beloved dogs Frazier Flea and Raisin, Molly Cat, and turtles Toddifer and Peabody. Her father, Anthony John "Jack" Aszman, died earlier.
Services will be graveside at Taft Pioneer Cemetery at noon Saturday, April 4, followed by a Celebration of Life at Lincoln City Cultural Center, 540 N.E. Highway 101. Donations may be made to the Wildlife Rehab Center of the North Coast in Astoria by calling 503-338-0031.
