Aaron S. Fisher, 91, son of George M. Fisher and Eva Williams Fisher, was born July 31, 1910, on the banks of the Red River near Henryetta, Okla. He died Oct. 16, 2001, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center at Mountain Grove.
He married Gertrude Ellisworth. They had three children, and he brought to the union one daughter, Dorothy Lee.
Mr. Fisher served in the Army from April 13, 1944, until May 14, 1946, as a gun crewman. He served from then until May 13, 1949, as a heavy artillery operator.
He worked most of his life on the family farm and in construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three children, Dorothy, Kenneth and Ronald; two brothers, Melvin and Johnnie; and one sister, Ruby Brown.
Surviving are one son, Donald Fisher of Summersville; one sister, Tressie Murphy of Summersville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 20 at Oklahoma City, Okla., with burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Norman, Okla., under the direction of Bradford Funeral home of Summersville.
