"It is with regret that we announced the sudden death of Wm. Forbes in our last issue. He was a native of Prince Edward Island, Canada and of Scotch descent. He came to Nevada 30 years ago and in 1875 settled in the Azusa Valley. He was married to Susannah McCallum of his native home a few years ago. Only a short time ago the writer visited him and his estimable [home?] and while complaining he was around and delighted in caressing the twins. He was a true friend, with a large and generous heart, but his maker called him home, thus we shall all have to part and be numbered in silent city of the dead. " "FORBES - At the residence of the late Wm. Forbes, one and a half miles south of Azusa, on Saturday, August 1st, of consumption, Frank Forbes, aged about 23 years. He was a nephew of the late Wm. Forbes. Furneral services were conducted at the family residence, after which all that was mortal of Frank Forbes was laid to rest in the new Oakdale cemetery." "BAUME - On Wednesday evening, September 23, 1891, at their home south of Azusa, Charlotte, wife of Samuel Baume, aged 37 years. The sad and very sudden announcement of the death of Mrs. Baume reached Azusa just as we go to press, the partiulars of which we have not learned. Mrs. Baume was a sister of Wm. Forbes, so recently deceased, and an aunt of Frank Forbes, who died still more recently. Thus three have been called home from this family in three months. Mrs. Baume leaves four very small children, the youngest being twins about___ years old. Mr. Baume and his little family will have the heartfelt sympathy of neighbors and friends as they follow the remains of the wife and mother to their last resting place this afternoon."
