Mrs. Helmer Amunrud, 69, resident of Prosper, died at 4 am Monday, September 7, following a stroke which she suffered a few hours earlier.
Funeral services were held September 9, at 2 pm at the Black Hammer Lutheran Church, Rev. O. A. Rust officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Amunrud was born October 13, 1883, in Black Hammer township. She was the former Hannah Gronvold, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Gronvold. She was married in 1904.
Survivors include her husband and five children: Obert of Mabel; Henry of Prosper; Stella of Decorah; Mrs. Ray (Gladys) Henning, of Burr Oak; and Mrs. Clarence (Emma) Anderson, Cresco; seven grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. [Betsy]Martin Ostern, Spring Grove; Mrs. [Gina]Bernt Johnson, Black Hammer; Mrs. [Benora]Helmer Staupe, Farmington; and Helmer and Odin Gronvold, of Black Hammer.
Mrs. Amunrud passed away at the age of 69 years, 10 months, 13 days; she was baptized and confirmed at the Black Hammer church. She married Helmer Amunrud, August 30, 1904; to their union six children were born, one daughter Myrtle passed away in infancy.
She is survived by her husband and five children.
Three sisters preceded her in death: Emma (Mrs. Ole Housker); Amanda (Mrs. Andrew Berquam); and Ida (Mrs. Gilbert Amunrud).
