Reinhard Janson

Reinhard Janson, age 70, a resident of Pierz, died February 11 in Buckman Township.

Funeral services were held February 15 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman with Father Ken Brenny officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Reinhard was born in Buckman Township on March 16, 1921 to the late Anton and Margaret (Nabor) Janson. After completing his primary education at St. Michael's School in Buckman, he attended the U of M Agricultural School. Reine joined the U.S. Army in 1946 and spent two years serving in Japan. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Marshik on June 26, 1948. They raised five sons on the family farm which was located one mile weest of Buckman. They were later joined by their sons Roger and Galen in operating the farm. In 1983 the farm was named "A Century Farm". Reine thoroughly loved farming. He was an usher at St. Michael's Church for many years and a member of St. Michael's Society.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Diana of Nashville, Tenn., Gary and Nancy of St. Cloud, Galen and Anne, Roger and Janice of Buckman, David and Deb of Toledo, Ohio; sister, Mrs. Mike (Linda) Hesch of Sauk Rapids and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Loretta Janson.

Casketbearers were his five sons, Kenneth, Gary, Galen, Roger and David Janson and Joseph Przybilla.
