Helen Rose Kloss was born May 18, 1922 in Buckman Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Sam and Gertrude (Smieja) Kloss. She grew up in Morrison County and attended District#116 school in Buckman Township. She graduated from Royalton High School with the Class of 1940. Helen was united in marriage to Lawrence Bauer on September 7 1943 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN. The couple made their home in Buckman Township most of their married lives. Helen farmed with her husband, Lawrence. She also, worked for Stearns Manufacturing for six years. Lawrence died on November 22, 1982, Helen continued living in Buckman, MN, until moving into Little Falls, MN in 2002. She enjoyed embroidery, gardening, flowers, cooking and spending time with her family. Helen was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman, MN, since 1957. She just recently received her 50 year Christian Mother's pin.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Shirley (Don) Opatz of Little Falls, MN, Judy (Dave) Glaze of Little Falls, MN, Butch (Mary Jane) Bauer of Little Rock, MN; son-in-law, Arnold "Arnie" Gardner of St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren, Rob (Kate), Brian (Cyndi), Rich (Sarah), Lisa (James), Drue (Emmy), Todd, Wade (Missy), Kurt, Mark, Shelly and Shaun (Stephanie); great-grandchildren, Skylar, Blayne, Anja, Lucy, Cody, Owen, Jacob, Brody, Lily, Whitney, Zachary, Spencer, Scarlett and Silas; siblings, Evelyn (Pete) Tatum of New Orleans, LA, Clara Schaefer of Brainerd, MN; sister-in-law, Rita Kloss of Royalton, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Gertrude Kloss; husband, Lawrence Bauer on November 22, 1982; daughter, Gloria Gardner on October 29, 2011; grandson, Mark Bauer on May 12, 2010; grandson-in-law, Ashley Schraut on June 21, 2012; brothers, Leo Kloss, Leonard (Genevieve) Kloss and Bernard "Bernie" (Charlotte) Kloss; sister, Rose Marie (Richard "Buddy") Kappes and brother-in-law, James Schaefer.
