Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Smyrna Church of Christ with the minister, Silas F. Shaw, and John W. High officiating. Burial was in Smyrna cemetery.
Mr. Akeman native of Warren county, was born August 25, 1871. He was a son of George Akeman and Martha Cartwright Akeman and was first married to Miss Thena Pettit April 2, 1902. She died December 9, 1927 and Mr. Akeman was married March 19, 1933 to Miss Mary Jaco. She survives. Mr. Akeman was a member of the Church of Christ and had been a resident of the fifth district practically all of his life.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Beecher Hudson, McMinnville, and a brother, George Akeman, also of McMinnville.
