On July 4, 1863, Daniel enlisted as private in Co. D, 13th Georgia Regt., in Savannah, Georgia, By June 9, 1864, he was reported deceased, in hospital in Guyton, Georgia. On October 13, 1864, his father...Alexander Stuckey..hired an attorney to obtain possessions/or money owed to Daniel. Alexander stated that Daniel had no wife or child.
Daniel's body was brought to Pleasant Plains Cemetery for burial by the family.
