ROLANDO, FRED W.
Age 81 years, late of Coal City. Passed away Tuesday, January 21, 1997 at Sunny HIll Nursing Home. Born in Missouri on Jan. 1, 1916, living in the Joliet area most of his life. Employed by Com Ed for 30 years before retiring. Member of the Morris Moose Lodge, the Tiger Club of Aurora, and the Lake-Will Recreation Club. Preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Sarah (nee Greer) Rolando; a son-in-law, Kenneth Bergman; two brothers, Jesse and an infant brother. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Lola M. (nee Briggs) Rolando; a son Warren (Mary Kay) Rolando; and a daughter Rosalind (late Kenneth) Bergman; seven grandchildren, Beth (Charles) Thomas, Leon (Jayne) Bergman, Mary Kay (Dolph) Young, Larry (Kathy) Leach, Cherie (Rick) Tyner, Toni Rolando, and Cindy Rolando; twelve great-grandchildren; a special friend, Mike Hicks of Summerville, SC; one brother, Hurchal Rolando; two sisters, Katie Sissick and Hazel (Harrison) Bogart; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Grant-Tapella-Freitag Westwood Chapel on Friday, January 24, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Coal City United Methodist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
