Funeral will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in Heavenly Rest Episcopal Church for B. C. LEACH, 84, of 720 Grape, who died Monday in Hendrick Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
The Rev. E. P. DENTZER, rector, and Dr. Willis P. GERHART will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery under the direction of North Funeral Home.
Mr. LEACH was born Aug. 26, 1879 in Yazoo City, Miss. He came to Abilene in 1903, where he married Louise WALSHE. He worked for Minter Dry Goods Co. until 1918 and then traveled for the J. V. Farrell Mfg. Co. for 12 years. He had been retired since the early 1930s.
His wife died May 14, 1955. One son, George also preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, Stuart of 2102 Parramore; a daughter, Mrs. Catherine BAILY of 2431 N. 3rd; two grandchildren; a brother Tom of Hot Springs, Ark., and a sister Sallie LEACH of Madison, Miss.
Pallbearers will be J. B. WHITEHEAD, James OSBORNE, Homer BOND, Will MINTER, Rufus FREEMAN and Clarence HAILEY. The body will lie in state at North Funeral Home until service time.
