John Landers Allder, age 93, son of Dr. Byron B. and Almina Cowan Allder, was born January 1, 1916, in Cane Hill, Missouri. John grew up with his siblings, Martha Margaret, Robert and George, all whom preceded him in death. He attended Cane Hill School where he graduated from the 8th grade. He attended high school in Dadeville, Mo., graduating in 1933, and went to Missouri University where he attained his bachelor's degree in agriculture in 1939. John served his country as 1st Lieutenant with the Army Air Corps in World War II as a navigator, serving in the Pacific Theatre from 1942 to 1946. In 1945, he married Sue Mary Moore, who preceded him in death in 1997, after 52 years of marriage. After discharge in 1946, he taught agriculture to returning Cedar County G.I.'s for a few years, and started farming and raising cattle until retirement in 1983. John is survived by one sister-in-law, Helen Allder; nieces and nephews, Joe Allder, Pamela Mehlenbeck, Joan Ireland, Mary Kennedy, Bob Maze, Carol Ann Gunsallus and Allder Maze; along with numerous great-nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers and staff at Stockton Nursing Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, in Brumback Funeral Home, with burial in Stockton Cemetery.
