LAVACA — Allen James Hadley Sr., 81, of Lavaca died Friday, June 8, 2001, in his home. He was a Army veteran of World War II and a member of the DAV and a recipient of a Silver Star, Bronze Star, a Purple Heart and the Medal of Honor. He was a master machinist for General Electric. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Nixon Cemetery in Charleston under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston. He is survived by four daughters, Delores Stone of Charleston, Joyce Rodier of Vermont, Linda Silver of Suncook, N.H. and Donna Conrad of Cortland, N.Y.; two sons, Allen Hadley Jr. of Lavaca and Jerry Wayne Hadley of Maine; a sister, Beverly Thornton of Lincoln, Mont.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
