Mrs. Mary Manley, who died May 31, 1882, was born in Highland-co., Ohio, May 29, 1816, making her 66 years and 2 days old. She emigrated with her parents to Indiana when small, was married in that State in 1835, and united with the M.E. church when in her 15th year. She was a mother of seven children, and used great efforts to give them a fair education. Death entered the circle in 1856 and in nine short years the four oldest were laid in their graves. In 1869 she came to Miami-co. and settled in Osage-twp. For a few years past her health has been failing, and she stayed much of the time at her neatly kept home. The high esteem in which her neighbors held her can only be estimated by the care given in her last illness, and that long and silent train that followed her to her last resting place in the Fontana cemetery.
