Thomas was born the son of the late Claude and Lena Cunningham Milstead. An employee of Warren County Nursery, a United States Army veteran of Korea and a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Eona York Milstead; three sisters, Alma Milstead, Lorene Milstead and Irene Barnes and four brothers, Lee, Bill, Alton & George Milstead. He was married May 26, 1982 to Edna Shockley Milstead of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Randall & Juan Milstead and Kevin Milstead both of McMinnville; four step-children and their spouses, William and Arlene Shockley, Angela and Johnny Bouldin, Jereme Shockley and Tara and Kelly Dishman all of Spencer, TN; three grandchildren, Kristy Milstead, Randy Milstead and Brandon Milstead; two great-grandchildren, Kami Roberson and Kyleigh Milstead; five step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, James and Sarah Milstead of the Irving College Community; special niece, Valerie Denny; special nephew, Russell Milstead and several other nieces and nephews.
