Walter Earl Overstreet, 73-year-old native of the Lizton community, died, Saturday afternoon, in the Britton Nursing Home in Rockville.
He was born July 20, 1889, the son of the late Aaron S. and Martha Walter Overstreet.
He had lived in the Russellville area where he was employed as a telegraph operator until he resigned due to ill health. He was a member of the Russellville Federated Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Services were conducted, Monday afternoon, in the Federated Church with the Rev. Paul Bingham officiating. Burial was in the Brick Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Clara Overstreet; two daughters, Frances Johnson, of Wisconsin, and Martha Spencer, of Corbin; four sons, Clarence, of Waveland, Robert, of West Virginia, Aaron of Chicago, Ill., and Ray Overstreet, of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Davis of Greencastle, and Mrs. Bertha Blessing, of Pittsboro; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
