Martha Jane Hall was born November 10, 1864 to Andrew J. And Mary Scott Bennett. Martha was united in marriage to John Adam Hall on December 3, 1882. To the union 14 children were born John Calvin, Ada Catherine, Clyde Monroe, James Arthur, Veda Pearl, Vada Ann, Howard Adam,
Lloyd Forest, Vida Fern, Theodore Roosevelt four of their children died at birth. Martha had spent all of her life in Dade County. In her married life as well as a housewife, she worked on the farm and was book keeper for her husbands mining business. Much of the time when John was out of town she also worked as a loan officer to their employees as they often made loans to them. With all of her duties she was above all a good mother to her children. In years after her death her children have always held her in high esteem stating she was a very exceptional mother and that they always came first. Martha Jane ( Bennett ) Hall died June 6, 1922 at Springfield, Missouri after surgery for liver cancer. She was buried at Corry, Missouri on June 29, 1922.

Martha Jane( Bennett ) Hall wife of John A. Hall was born November 12, 1864 and departed this life June 27, 1922 aged 57 years 7 months 14 days. She was married to John A. Hall of Corry in 1883. To this union 14 children were born four dying while quite small. Those remaining are Calvin Hall of Dadeville, Clyde M. Hall of Ft Scott, Ada Glenn of Glenntown, Arthur Hall, Veda Huffman and Vada Morgan of Blackwell, Oklahoma and Forest, Vida Fern and Teddy all of the home address. The Husband, children and a host of other relatives and friends are left to mourn her departure. May the Grace of God attend the bereft. Sister Hall died at a Springfield hospital after an operation. She had made her peace with the Lord before she died. May all the unsaved ones prepare to meet the things that are coming upon one and all. All of the children were present except the ones in Blackwell who could not be there in time. The Funeral services were conducted at the Corry Chapel by the writer in the presence of a large concourse of sympathizing friends, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Corry Cemetery to await the Resurrection morn.
