Velma Leona Perkins Johnson of Lyons passed away in her home after a long illness. She was 87.
She was born in Birchtree, Missouri on September 18, 1919. Velma came to Colorado in 1928 with her parents Jake and Effie Perkins and her siblings.
She met and married Shelton Johnson in Elk Mountain, Wyoming. They lived most of their lives in Colorado in the towns of Gould, Rand, Ridgeway, Norwood, Hayden and Lyons.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband Shelton and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 pm Thursday July 26, 2007 at Lyons Cemetery. A gathering will be held after at Barry and Linda Johnson's home.
Cremation arrangements by Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel and Cremation Service.
